Let me summarize an article written by Matt Elliot before you head over to read it directly from him. Basically, the Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) is a public agency. They strive to help the parking situation across Toronto.
In 2016, the TPA plans on spending over $340 million on parking expansion. Like I said, the TPA is a public agency. This large sum of money could be directed elsewhere, but instead it’s being used to fund huge parking garages and parking lots – essentially, patches of land for cars to sit in.
