How do I sign up for an account?
Launch the ParqEx app on your mobile device, use the menu to select “Account” and then “Sign Up.” You will be asked to fill in your first name, last name, email address, and mobile phone number. Create your password and click “Sign Up.” Please read the terms and conditions before completing registration.
How do I know if a spot is available?
When searching for a parking spot, it’s important to know if a spot is available at the time you need it. Select “Search” from the app menu; At the top of the screen, you’ll see the date and time range for which you’re currently searching. You can adjust the range by clicking the bar and entering the date/times for when you’d like to park. Save these changes and your search listings will be updated.
How can I cancel my spot/get a refund?
If your plans have changed and you no longer need your reserved spot, you are able to cancel it for a full refund up until 2 hours before the start time on the reservation. You can cancel it through the app, by selecting “Purchases” from the menu, choosing the specific reservation you would like to cancel, then clicking the “Cancel Reservation” button.
Do I need to have a printed receipt?
For most spots, you will not be required to have a printed receipt in your car. If it is required for a specific reservation, the spot’s instructions will clearly say so. In this case, the receipt should be clearly visible in your front windshield; if a receipt is not visible in a spot that requested one, your reservation will be considered invalid.
How do I enter/exit a spot?
Some parking spots can be trickier to access than others, so we encourage owners to include this information on every spot listing. Some owners will include this information in the instructions that are emailed upon completing the purchase. These instructions are also visible in the reservation details. How do I add my vehicle(s)?
Using the app menu, select “Vehicles” underneath “Find Parking.” Then click “Add A New Vehicle” at the top. You will then be able to add a photo, as well as the make, model, license plate, and description to complete the profile. If this is your usual vehicle, you can also select it as your default. Make sure to save the information at the bottom. You can add multiple vehicles the same way, as well as delete vehicles you’re no longer using.
Why can't I log in?
If you’ve already registered for ParqEx but can’t log in, it’s likely you still need to verify the account. This can be done by clicking the verification link in the email you receive upon registration—check your spam folder if you haven’t received it. Once the account is verified, you should be able to log in successfully. If you are still having trouble signing in, please contact us.
How can I save a spot I really like?
If there is a spot you really like and want to reserve regularly, you can easily add it to your favorites. Once you’re in the app, use the menu and select “Search” to find the spot or “Purchases” to find a spot you’ve used before. From these lists, select your favorite spot, and you’ll be redirected to its page. Once there, tap the star to add the spot to your list of “Favorite Spots,” which can also be accessed from the menu.
How does payment work?
Reservations are made via credit card. ParqEx does not store your financial information and uses third-party secure payment gateway providers to process payments. If you are renting a spot, you will be charged at time of booking. If you are renting out a spot(s), you will receive a payout (less 15% commission) on a weekly basis. Payouts can be delivered via Chase QuickPay, PayPal, Venmo, or check. Please allow an additional 3-5 business days for processing.
How much do spots cost?
The price of each parking spot is set by its owner and varies by location, time, demand, and other factors. The “average” can easily be determined by going through the “Search” options on the app. The price shown in the search is the best price for your selection: hourly, daily, weekly, or custom. If you will be in a spot for more than a few hours, it is often more cost effective to pay for the whole day. Weekly and monthly rates are also available.
How do I update my information?
You can update your profile, password, and other information from within the app. Use the menu to access “Account,” and you’ll be brought to your profile. From here, you will have the option to change password, public profile, and other account-related information.
11/6/15—In an effort to help both renters and spot owners stay on top of requests, we’ve added phone verification, push notifications, and SMS alerts to the ParqEx mobile app. Users may opt in/out of any of the notification types at any time via the app’s Notifications panel.
